Hello and Happy New Year! I hope you all had a wonderful holiday break. I spent a lot of time with family and friends. We welcomed a new little baby girl into my family – my niece had a baby at the end of November. So, it’s been an exciting time for us all. She’s so sweet!
I have a lot going on right now but I’m also trying to get back into blogging.
I’m also thrilled to announce that I’ve been selected to be a member of the Boston Design Center Designer-on-Call (DOC) program for 2017. What does this mean, you ask? The design center offers the services of professional interior designers to anyone who doesn’t come with their own designer. Nearly all the showrooms at the BDC are “to-the-trade only” which means that they don’t sell direct to consumers. But, in some cases, clients may only want a single item they’ve seen in magazine, they aren’t looking for full-on design services. Or, they don’t know how to go about finding a good interior designer. This program provides access to the general public while also supporting the design community, interior designers and showrooms. There are about 15 designers in the program and we each cover 1 or 2 days a month (I’ll be there the First Friday and Fifth Tuesday of each month). Clients can just walk up or make an appointment ahead of time. They receive a free hour design consult to be used however they wish and then can hire us directly if the want to keep going. But through us, clients can purchase from any showroom in the building. Win-win all around. They haven’t updated the website yet with the 2017 designers, headshot and schedules, but you can learn more about the program here.
And finally, I’m honored to have been included in this list of Top 200 Influencers in the Home Design Industry for 2017. Don’t know how it happened, but there I am with the likes of Charlotte Moss, Kelly Wearstler and many industry colleagues.
