Travel Tuesday – Cannes

Cannes – home of film festivals, topless beaches and the beautiful people. Everything is accentuated in the Côte d’Azur, the light is so bright that the colours are flashing. The pines are green and are happily rubbing shoulders with the blue shades of the Mediterranean Sea and the sky, the sun is highlighting the yellow tones of the flowers, in a natural setting of rocks and hills: it is indeed easy to understand the fascination exerted by the Côte d’Azur on every visitor.

The California’s Hotel in Cannes is a cool and refreshing mix of French country and California casual.

The Hotel Renoir has a soft, almost monochromatic color palette. The colors of the water and sky must really pop through the windows.

Hotel 3.14 has over the top deep colors, whimsical details – such as this corset canopy over the bed.

Have you ever hobnobbed with the beautiful people in the Côte d’Azur?

  1. I’ve been to the Cote d’Azur, but can honestly say I never hobnobbed with the beautiful people. Cannes is wonderful, so perfectly French and Mediterranean. Our hotel room was downtown, and the traffic provided the loudest nights I’ve ever spent anywhere, including Paris.

Lovely hotels. Bet they’re quieter than ours was.

  2. I have been to the Cote d’Azur but I, like Ms. Place have never graced the fabulous establishments highlighted here.

The intense colors hit me like you described, and I remember telling my mom on the phone that Cote d’Azur to me was like the Technicolor version of France.
