Where have I seen that?

I saw these beautiful Tommi Parzinger Club Chairs, circa 1950s, at Todd Merrill Antiques, via 1st Dibs, and thought they looked very familiar.

And I remembered the Aiden Chair at Mitchell Gold + Bob Williams. I used a pair of these chairs, upholstered in a lush brown velvet, in a clients’ living room recently and they not only look great, they are really comfortable as well. The back is different than the Parzinger chair, but the curved sides and slightly splayed feet are there.

The Parzinger chairs are amazing, aren’t they? Lucky is the person who scoops them up!

  1. Wow, good memory to pick that up! I like them both for different reasons. I think I’d go more for the lower chair, looks like leather? The arms seem to come up a little higher from the seat, good to sink into.

  2. Ooooh — so yummy! There is something about the top pair that has that ’50s line to it. A slight trace of deco hidden under those elegant lines? Whatever it is they are beautiful.
