I’m so looking forward to attending next week’s preview launch party of Dining By Design, which benefits DIFFA, Design Industry Foundation Fighting Aids. The local partner organization is Community Research Initiative of New England (CRI).
Dubbed the “Cannes of Tabletop” by filmmaker John Waters, DIFFA’s DINING BY DESIGN is an opportunity for various corporations and designers to showcase their imagination and talents by creating unique dining installations to accommodate their dinner guests.
DINING BY DESIGN comes to Boston and the Black Falcon Terminal on November 30 and December 1, 2007. 2007 marks the 10th anniversary of DINING BY DESIGN, the annual, signature fundraising event and multi-city marketing platform created by DIFFA. Presented by ELLE DECOR and GE MONOGRAM, DINING BY DESIGN travels across the nation to eight different cities where the event raises significant funds to support direct care for people living with HIV/AIDS and preventive education for those at risk. In Boston, the funds raised from this new event will directly support the leading edge HIV/AIDS clinical research of the local nonprofit organization, CRI.
The Boston Design Center will be the local presenting sponsor for this year’s DBD event. With its prominent position within the Boston design community, the Boston Design Center is the perfect local organization to host the event.
