SoWa Artists Guild First Fridays

I’m a little late posting this, but last Friday my neice Katie and I spent a lovely evening among several talented artists and their art at the SoWa Artists Guild First Fridays Open Studios in Boston’s South End. The weather was cold and rainy, but it was warm and inviting at 450 Harrison Avenue.

My favorite artist was Sally Rowles, whose abstract works were just mesmerizing! Here are some of my snapshots, but they absolutely don’t do her work justice. So, head on over to her website for a real feast. Or, better yet, visit her in her studio and see for yourself!

Other artists who caught my eye were:

Stacey Cushner – her still life works had the feeling of old Dutch masters with simple settings and strong light source

Tom Ouellette fine oil portrats (would you love to sit for one of these???)

Barbara Poole – visual artist. I found her business card that night, which I loved, and then found this piece on her site. Love the chandelier!
