Playing Hookie and Mamma Mia!

I played hookie today and went to see the new movie Mamma Mia. Loved it! The colors, the water, ABBA! And for design enthusiasts, Josef Frank fabrics figure prominently in the movie. The colors were just so perfect for the setting on a Greek island – from fluttering sheets in a courtyard to the same fabrics used in a dream sequence. 1. I loved this movie even more than the stage production!

On stage, I found the story totally pointless but I was very invested in the characters in the movie and cried a lot!

  2. Eric, you’re a girl after my own heart! I was all weepy in spots as well. The critics had their heads up their butts with all the harsh criticisms. Was it great art? Maybe not. But it was great fun and heartwarming. Thumbs up from me!

  3. this is one of the few plays i’ve actually seen, which ended up being great… it’s funny to think of ol’ Pierce taking a stab at singing, yeeesh
