What better way to get inspiration for a natural, homespun kind of Christmas than a quick trip to Colonial Williamsburg. With no Target or Christmas Tree Shops to head off to, how did our forebearers celebrate the season? By heading towards the woods and garden, of course! (OK, historically speaking, they often did not actually decorate, but hey…)

Beautiful, Linda. I think our forefathers had the right idea. Simple and beautiful. My hubby visited Willimasburg last year & loved it. I would love to go! Merry Christmas!
I love Williamsburg. It is such an incredible place. I’ve never been there for Christmas, so thank you for sharing these wonderful photos.
BEAUTIFUL!
If all goes well my son should be in Williamsburg in May 2009 on a school trip!
Laurel (my oldest pal) – thanks for your comment and compliments! And welcome to the 21st century – is that your very first blog comment? Actually, it was you who inspired me to do a Williamsburg post.
Rhonda – Merry Christmas to you as well!
Rebecca and Fifi – thanks for your comments!
Nobody does the American style Christmas better!
