Requiescat in pace – my cute Daddy

My dear – and oh so cute – Daddy, Bob Merrill, passed away yesterday at 83. He fought back from a debilitating stroke several years ago, walking when they said he may never again, and from a heart attack last year, when they said he might not make it through that night. But time, and that bastard cancer, took its toll and he was done with it all. His parents died in their 60’s and siblings both in their 70’s. We knew we were blessed to have him so long. Now is for family time. Will be back to blogging next week, which is what he would want, and expect.

xoxo Linda

  2. oh no! Linda, I am so sorry – I know how sudden this all was, you must still be in shock. Let me know if I can help in any way – lend an ear, if you need one. I’ll be here for you.

  3. Linda, my deepest sympathies to you and your family. I lost my dad at 83 five years ago after a stroke triggered by brain surgery for Parkinson disease left him in a vegetative state for three years. Nothing can prepare you for the loss but treasure the memories you have and he will be with you always. I’ll be thinking of you.

  4. Linda,
I am so very sorry to hear about your father. It is so difficult. If you need anything know I will help in any way I can. I lost my parents very young- one very suddenly and one after a long, difficult illness. It is never easy. My prayers are with you.

  6. Hi everyone – thank you so much for your kind comments and emails. I so appreciate all the love and support. We’re making it through – although both my mother and I have nasty colds. Am looking forward to getting back into the swing of things after the funeral, which is on Wednesday.
