And so, we come to the end of Spa Week where I share my pick for which amazing spa location I am visiting this weekend. And the winner is the spa at the Mandarin Oriental Hotel right in downtown Boston. It’s the only modern location in the mix, and the only urban one. The other three places under consideration spanned Massachusetts and northern New England – Canyon Ranch (The Berkshires), Mt. Washington Resort (White Mountains) and Chatham Bars Inn (Cape Cod) and in the end, to Boston we go early Saturday morning to spend an entire day in the lap of luxury receiving spa service after spa service. I cannot wait.
I’ve been to the Mandarin several times before – for industry events and for dinner in their restaurants and have always been impressed with the staff and decor.
The lobby with its gorgeous floors –
The lobby sitting area
A room with a view
Beautiful, understated bathroom
Restaurants and dining
Special events under the Sputniks
The couples suite is available to rent for as little as two hours up to an entire day. We considered this, but decided that we’d rather put the money into services rather than privacy.
The hot tub and shower in the suite
A gorgeous treatment room. I’m feeling more relaxed just looking at this…
The spa cafe.
Our full day – called the Boston Breather – will include:
- Welcoming Foot Ritual
- Coffee and Frankincense Scrub
- Oriental Essence massage
- Specialized Facial
- Lunch in Spa Cafe
- Luxury Manicure
- Luxury Pedicure
Have I mentioned that I. Cannot. Wait.
Afterwards we’ll be eating at the new French inspired bistro Bar Boulud:
I’m not sure how I’ll be able to drive home without passing out from relaxation! As mentioned in my first Spa Week post, I’ll be attending a Working Women’s retreat at the Miramar Retreat Center on Sunday – so I will be taking care of myself body and soul this weekend. A new me for a new year!
Stay tuned for my review next week!
