BlogTourKBIS – Visiting with Metrie at the Kitchen & Bath Show

Metrie is a millwork and moldings company that is celebrating their 90th year in business and is the largest supplier and manufacturer of solid wood and composite moulding in North America. We were treated to a great tour of three of their offerings groupings – which are amazingly well thought out from a marketing as well as a buyer perspective.

The five Then & Now Finishing Collections are each inspired by different architectural styles. They are interpretations of classic styles that have been carefully designed to work with the most up-to-date decorating styles and trends. So now Baroque elements can speak the language of Shabby Chic. And Art Deco can take on an Urban Edge.  The moldings come in three different tiers – all wood, wood/mdf mix and all mdf for a choice of pricing levels. These are delivered unfinished to the designer/client who can then have them finished to their own design specifications.

Metrie Complete is a collection of pre-finished moldings. Pre-painted and ready to install with durable Fintek™ paint finish. Metrie™ Complete pre-painted mouldings eliminate the need to prep or paint before installing – saving you valuable time. No drips or mess on floors or walls because Metrie Complete comes with a beautiful smooth paint finish for a flawless look.

Touch up kits are available including wax fill stick, putty, caulk and touch-up spray paint, though these moldings are highly durable and meant to last. They only come pre-finished in white, but the possibilities for their uses are really amazing from personal homes to large public buildings.
