November is all about the end of the growing season – leaves have turned brown and bronze and are falling to the ground. So, this month, we celebrate Brown and Bronze as the Color of the Month #COTM for November.
I do have a posting coming up with holiday decorating ideas for Thanksgiving, but did want to include this gorgeous holiday tablescape. The combinations of textures and colors – rough and luxe – is very appealing, isn’t it?

Speaking of colors and textures…

Some more great small details – how fun is this stag table lamp?

And these dried hydrangea captures the perfect pink to brown transition.

Moody still life…

Deep chocolate brown walls are both traditional and modern.

How about this glossy and sexy bathroom?

The brown lacquer walls really bring this traditional library into a next level design.

And this… the combination of the dusty pink bench seat, with the tall brown walls – a really play on color, light, big and small.

It’s funny, because I hated brown for a long time. It probably had a lot to do with a certain scratchy brown dress that my Mom made me wear when I was in 5th grade. I couldn’t bring myself to wear the color brown for several decades.
I now realize just how flattering this color is. (Still hate the dress!)
(I receive a small commission on sales of the above items which helps keep this blog going!)
love! One of these days I’ll have to have a small dinner party to decorate a holiday table like that. In our house with 45 guests, we basically sling hash and everyone has to fend for themselves to get a bite before the food’s gone – lol. I put that stag lamp in a design once. It was a bit pricey but well worth it.
Wow, 45 guests is crazy!
