My pretend boyfriend John Derian has done it again with a spectacular, or should I say spooktacular, new collection celebrating Halloween for Target. John has long done great products for Target from dishware to paper goods all in his signature whimsical style derived from his decoupage work. I’ve long written about John’s decoupage work and have even stalked his shop in Provincetown, which has never been open when I’ve been there! Someday!
We even shared the pages of The Boston Globe in 2010 when my kitchen makeover was featured and his house was featured (his feature was bigger, of course). It looks like the photo shoot for the John Derian Halloween for Target Collection was shot in his Provincetown home, which is really the perfect setting. His house is an antique Federal style home right in town which he famously keeps pretty low key with lots of old wallpaper and chippy paint.
Whoo!
These hand towels must be mine!
Well, this gives new meaning to the concept of a body pillow…
I hate spiders but these dishes are amazing!
Meow!
I need to re-do my mantle.
Am I wrong to love dead roses?
This table runner is amazing!
It’s a hard year for “entertaining” and even trick-or-treating seems like it will be pretty low key. These pieces – all so reasonably priced – will bring a little spooky-spirit to your home!
(Edited to add: My new fall mantle! And no orange in sight!)
Shop the John Derian does Halloween for Target Collection!
(Note that items are apparently only available in stores but can be ordered online for local store pickup. Given quantities are limited, this is probably a good way to go. Also, this shop contains affiliate links and a small commission is paid to me on any purchases made from clicks on the links, at no additional cost to the buyer. This helps support this blog, thank you!)
Hello Linda, Finally you are giving us some practical decorating advice! I think my favorites are the graveyard scenes–Halloween is such a fun holiday, and Derian captures its essence perfectly, not too serious but not at all “cutesy.” Too bad there is no Target here so I could go look for myself. I will tell my sister in the US definitely to check them out. I do have some Halloween decorations in Taiwan, although I don’t plan to put much out this year. I once found some majolica-like snake platters that might go well with Mr. Derian’s efforts, second photo in this post:

I love that stuffed skeleton! Such fun decor!
Hi Carla – yes, the skeleton “body” pillow is pretty fabulous!
Haha “body pillow”! Love it 🙂 I’m generally not a big fan of spooky halloween decor, but these are great sophisticated options for those who like it! And your fall mantel is beautiful!
Thanks Janet!
Thanks for sharing this clever collection. I am not much for Halloween decor but these are so fun!
I had no idea he designed a collection for Target. I love his work, so naturally I love this collection. And the nice thing is that it is so affordable! Thanks for bringing it to my attention!
The pricing is very affordable and the quality is pretty good!
Wow, some fun ideas here! I love the bird print serving platter:)
Thanks Linda! I saw your blogpost on Pinterest, then clicked through to your blog. Just rushed to the Target website and bought a bunch! I am a John Derian fan!
It’s all so much fun!
Love the “body pillow” pun haha! This collection is such a fresh take on Halloween and not the ultra cutesy look you see overdone so much. I will have to check it out.

Thanks so much Rachel!
