Good morning! This is my inaugural The Saturday List post which will highlight what has caught my eye each week in the world of interiors, design and decoration! It’ll be kind of a potpourri of events, design tips, travel destinations, movies and television with amazing sets. As I said, whatever I’ve seen that I may want to reference again and thought you might be interested too!
The 2022 Kips Bay Decorator Show House in Palm Beach – via Veranda – a return to color and classic decorating! So refreshing!
Dynamic Accent Walls – A Designer’s Best Kept Secret – from Amy Wax, Color Expert – Some excellent tips here on how a great accent wall can work to fix “issues” and highlight something special in a room.
Creating the Opulent World of HBO’s “The Guilded Age” – written by Cathy Whitlock for Frederick magazine – Have you been watching this new series on HBO by Julian Fellows? The sets and costumes as amazing and drool worthy. I’m not sold on the show itself – the only truly interesting characters – the Scott’s of Brooklyn’s Black Elite – are not featured enough. The rest are generally unpleasant people swanning about late 19th century New York City and Newport. But, the sets and costumes are to. die.
An amazing kitchen by Jacqui Seerman Design in California. Thanks to my friend Leslie Carothers of Design Happy Living for sharing this project on Facebook. Give me green with a checkerboard floor and I have died and gone to heaven!
What Is “Reasonable” – by Linda Merrill – This is an older post that I wrote a couple of years ago. But the topic is evergreen, imho, plus it popped up in my Facebook memories so it’s new again!
