Hello and happy weekend! This week’s installment of The Saturday List includes Betty White’s Carmel CA house, newly on the market; an amazing Air BnB in Old Town that’s a gloriously decorated in red, white and blue – but in a modern and fun way.

One of the highest rated and most glorious looking rental properties on Air BnN is The Liberty House of Old Town. A small but mighty property that is jam packed with red, white and blue glory. At $292.00 a night it’s a total steal too.

And the award went to… The 2022 Academy Award for best production design went to production designer Patrice Vermette and set decorator Zsuzsanna Sipos for DUNE starring Timothée Chalamet, Rebecca Ferguson, Zendaya, and Oscar Isaac. I’m not a huge post-apocalyptic fantasy movie watcher, but I did see DUNE and it truly has an otherworldly beauty to it. More on the influences here. While I loved the set design of West Side Story, I think it’s a bigger achievement to create a world that doesn’t exist and make it beautiful than to re-create and re-imagine a world that did exist not that long ago.
High Point Market – the design industry’s biggest show – kicks off today in High Point, North Carolina. This is an entire town dedicated to the home furnishings industry. I’m not attending this go around, but will be monitoring what new and fabulous on social media from posts by friends and colleagues.
