Perennial design favorite Studio McGee has some pretty great pieces with Target’s Threshold collection. I’ve long loved the fun collaborations Target has had with higher end brands from Shabby Chic to John Derian. I recall many years ago that their collab with Missoni caused a near stampede!
Studio McGee has brilliantly turned their design aesthetic of clean, modern and natural materials into a powerhouse brand.
It is important to understand that these are less-costly versions of furnishings and accessories that a firm such as Studio McGee normally sells themselves and uses in client projects. The style is there but the quality and materials will have been engineered to come in at a specific price point. This can mean upholstery isn’t as padded or comfortable, wooden frames are not as solid. I think these types of collections are great so long as this is understood – it’s fun furniture at a low price point. You do get what you pay for. So read reviews from those who have purchased – what are the flaws that folks are reporting.
Here are some of my favorites from the collection – I’ve tried to read all the reviews and keep things to be better reviewed items. (Please note that these are affiliate links. A small commission is paid at no additional cost to the buyer. This goes to help support my blog expenses. Thank you!)
