A few weeks ago the nice folks at Quince home reached out to me to introduce their products – specifically for the home (obviously) but they also have clothing for all ages and sizes (which I love), holiday gifts and more. (Please note: this post includes affiliate links which means that a small commission is paid on any purchased made via the links provided. This helps support this blog. Also, Quince offered me a complimentary set of sheets of my choosing to review. All opinions and selections are my own.)
If you aren’t familiar with Quince, their mission is “to democratize high-quality essentials through our Manufacturer to Consumer (M2C) model and make luxury products accessible for everyone, without the high markup. What’s more, Quince’s supply chain is also socially and environmentally responsible: 70% of the brand’s products are made from renewable materials, and 100% of the factories it works with are certified by third-party auditors to ensure safe and equitable working conditions.”
Good Housekeeping awarded Quince’s 7-piece Luxury Organic Sateen Bedding Bundle percale set as an Outstanding Value.
After perusing their wide selection of sheets, I selected the European Linen sheet set. I’ve long wanted linen sheets and never got around to trying them out.
What are the benefits of linen sheets?
• Breathability and Temperature Regulation:
Linen is renowned for its exceptional breathability and temperature-regulating properties. The natural fibers of linen allow air to circulate easily, preventing excess heat buildup and promoting a more comfortable sleep experience. This makes linen sheets an excellent choice for all seasons, keeping you cool in the summer and warm in the winter. The breathability of linen can contribute to a more restful and uninterrupted night’s sleep.
• Durability and Longevity:
Linen is a robust and durable material, known for its ability to withstand regular use and washing without losing its quality. Linen fibers are inherently strong, making linen sheets resistant to wear and tear over time. With proper care, linen sheets can last much longer than other bedding materials, providing an investment in both comfort and longevity. This durability can save money in the long run, as linen sheets may not need to be replaced as frequently as other types of sheets.
•Natural Texture and Softening over Time:
One unique feature of linen is its natural texture, which can add a touch of rustic elegance to your bedroom. Linen sheets often have a slightly rough texture initially, but they tend to become softer and more comfortable with each wash. The fabric undergoes a natural softening process, resulting in a cozy and inviting feel. This characteristic can be particularly appealing to those who appreciate the tactile qualities of their bedding. The gradual softening of linen sheets contributes to a lived-in, relaxed aesthetic that many people find charming.
The sheets came quickly in this linen dust bag which is reusable (not that I’d never get the sheets folded well-enough to get back into the bag!). But we can always use a great cloth bag for travel use, etc.
Of course I had to order green sheets. I have so much green going on in my bedroom – it’s a little much and very hard to photograph because all the textures and surfaces render differently on camera.
The quality and drape of these sheets is first rate I will say. And generously proportioned – when I laid the top sheet on the bed, the bottom hem touched the floor at the bottom of the bed and the sides fall quite far down as well. Linen does have a shrink factor when washed so these will certainly always fit.
I’ve slept on the sheets the last few nights and they are great. I was a little concerned the first night because they felt very cool (and it’s gotten chilly here in New England) but have gotten used to that. But I will probably really enjoy them in the summer months.
