Considering a Home Redo? Tips from the Experts

I was recently interviewed by We Love Fire as one of their selected North America’s Expert Interior Designers. I’m honored to be included in this small group of experts and everyone offered some great advice on what they feel is the most important when embarking on a home redo.

What did I share? One thing is:

I live in New England along the water, so the ocean and coastal living is a huge influence, as is the history of the area.

Each of my projects looks very unique and different from any other as it so depends on the client and their home — some homes are 300 year old antiques and others are brand new.

The unifying feature is my use of color and mixing patterns within a tightly controlled palette.

Read more here including my top tip when embarking on a home redo.

And here are some examples of my New England influenced designs:

And this pool house design from my personal dream home project.

And speaking of a home redo – here are sneak peeks at a couple of current home redo projects I’m working on:

Above – a small condo kitchen is getting a big makeover with a mix of traditional and modern cabinets filled with lots of storage!

And this is the kitchen plan for my long-term Sudbury Deck House client.

Neither project is in my standard “New England-y” wheelhouse but still reflect the architecture and style of their locations.
