Linda Merrill is an award-winning interior designer and decorator based on the South Shore of Massachusetts in a cottage, dubbed “Nook Cottage”, by the water. Summers spent on Cape Cod at her Grandparents house turned into a lifetime passion for the ocean and all things coastal living. Linda has spent her adult life living up and down the Massachusetts coast from Newburyport to Boston to Duxbury, Kingston and Sandwich on Cape Cod, never living more than a couple of miles from the water. A 12th generation New Englander, Linda’s design aesthetic is strongly influenced by the history of the region and the natural environment of the ocean.
Linda received a Certificate in Decorative Arts from the prestigious Boston Architectural College in 2002 and opened her own firm shortly thereafter. In 2012 Linda was awarded the IFDA New England/Design New England Magazine Showcase award for Best Living Space for her Back Bay Penthouse project.
Linda offers both in-person traditional full- interior design service design as well as custom virtual designs for those outside the area or who are looking for a great design that they can implement themselves.
Linda’s blog, Surroundings, has an international readership and is often named to Best Blog and Design Influencer lists and was most recently named to the Top 19 Interior Designers in Boston by Expertize.
Nearly every major project undertaken has been published in regional and national publications.
Linda has appeared on Martha Stewart’s Sirius Radio Channel; NECN’s “New England Dream House”; WHDH Television’s “Room for Improvement”; WBZ-TV’s “Sundays With Liz” and been featured in CAPE COD MAGAZINE, CAPE COD HOME, HOME REMODELERS magazine, THE BOSTON GLOBE Sunday Magazine, THE WASHINGTON POST, NEW ENGLAND HOME MAGAZINE, SOUTH SHORE LIVING MAGAZINE and THE PATRIOT LEDGER.
